On a sailing voyage we never use the word itinerary, as skippers will always be aiming for the best sailing and shore landings for the forecast and most idyllic or sheltered anchors and ports. They are as keen as you to include some of the highlights describe, but you have to go with Mother Nature, not fight her. The description below is based on what we think might be possible, based on past trips, or experience, but nothing is guaranteed on a sailing voyage. If the following voyage description is not fulfilled for any reason, Maybe Sailing and Maybe Sailing Youth Initiative cannot be held responsible.
This voyage is the start of TS Blue Clippers journey to the Caribbean. Enjoy an 8 day voyage on board, in the comfort of a twin en-suite cabin. Spend your days gazing at the horizon, relaxing on deck. Feeling energetic? Help the crew hoist the sails. Or you may want to learn about navigation or want to take the wheel and learn how to steer the ship and hold a course.
What a novel way to travel to the Canaries for that little bit of Winter Sun.
You will join the boat in Portimao, Portugal where you will have the afternoon to explore the city before an evening meal on board. We set off for Madeira, a journey of 550NM. This journey will immerse you into life at sea and allow you to feel at one with the Ocean. See beautiful sunrises and sunsets, star filled night skies and relax into the routine of life at sea.
If the wind is favourable there is the opportunity for a day trip on the Island of Madeira. Then it is off for the final 300NM voyage down to Las Palmas. Where there will be the opportunity to explore the delights of Las Palmas before a farewell meal on board.
