On a sailing voyage we never use the word itinerary, as skippers will always be aiming for the best sailing and shore landings for the forecast and most idyllic or sheltered anchors and ports. They are as keen as you to include some of the highlights describe, but you have to go with Mother Nature, not fight her. The description below is based on what we think might be possible, based on past trips, or experience, but nothing is guaranteed on a sailing voyage. If the following voyage description is not fulfilled for any reason, Maybe Sailing and Maybe Sailing Youth Initiative cannot be held responsible.
Choosing to sail on board Blue Clipper in the Caribbean is something special. Unlike huge cruise ships, Blue Clipper is small enough to get into the remote and isolated islands and keep away from the busy crowds.
Your voyage begins in Grenada, the spice Island of the Caribbean. St George’s the capital is one of the most picturesque towns in the Caribbean. It’s a fabulous place to explore on foot, from handsome old buildings to the Carenage harbour, interesting shops and cafes dot the narrow and busy streets. It is well worth adding a stay in St George’s to the start or end of your voyage to allow you time to explore this fascinating Caribbean town.
Remaining in the Windward Islands, this voyage will be spent sailing around Grenada, St Vincent and the Grenadines and may extend further north, depending on where the warm Caribbean winds take you. After spending last winter in this area, the skipper and crew on board Blue Clipper, know all the best places to visit, secluded anchorages and great opportunities to explore the Caribbean both above and below the water.
