On a sailing voyage we never use the word itinerary, as skippers will always be aiming for the best sailing and shore landings for the forecast and most idyllic or sheltered anchors and ports. They are as keen as you to include some of the highlights describe, but you have to go with Mother Nature, not fight her. The description below is based on what we think might be possible, based on past trips, or experience, but nothing is guaranteed on a sailing voyage. If the following voyage description is not fulfilled for any reason, Maybe Sailing and Maybe Sailing Youth Initiative cannot be held responsible.
Join Blue Clipper as she sails from Poland to Holland on this 13 night coastal voyage. Starting from Szczecin, with its maritime atmosphere, this unique city boasts 15 beautiful municipal parks, canoe trails, sailing lakes and it’s own vodka distillery (Starka) which you can visit! The cities main attractions are easy to navigate by following the “red walk”, a red painted line on the pavement connecting all the attractions in the centre.
Leaving Poland behind Blue Clipper will head for the Øresund, part of the Danish Straits, passing under the bridge linking Denmark with Sweden connecting the Baltic Sea to the North Sea through the Kattegat and Skagerrak.
There will be opportunities to visit places such as wonderful, wonderful Copenhagen, Aalborg known for its revitalised waterfront on the Limfjord and Skagen, with its charming harbour atmosphere on the northernmost tip of Jutland. Then sailing south along the Jutland Peninsula with possible stops at Esbjerg and the sea city of Bremerhaven on the German north sea coast before making our way through the shallow freshwater lake of IJsselmeer, a closed off inland bay in the central Netherlands where we end our journey in one of the greatest small cities in the world – Amsterdam.
