Ålesund Airport Vigra is the largest airport between Bergen and Trondheim. The airport is centrally located compared to some of the most important tourist attractions of Norway. The Art Nouveau Town of Ålesund, the Geirangerfjord, Trollstigen and the glacier Briksdalsbreen can
easily be reached from Ålesund Airport Vigra!
Domestic air connections are good, with direct flights to Oslo, Bergen and Trondheim. The distance Ålesund-Oslo is operated by both SAS and Norwegian. The last few years, the airport has
also established new direct international flights. Currently, there are direct routes to London, Alicante, Copenhagen and Riga with good connections to and from other international destinations. SAS, Norwegian and airBaltic are the flight companies operating regular traffic to and from Ålesund Airport Vigra.
The airport has also got an extensive charter offer, mainly during the summer season but also during autumn, winter and spring. Flights to destinations around the Mediterranean Ocean make the largest part of the charter traffic.
The airport has good flight bus connections at all arrivals and departures. Flight bus to and from
the centre of Ålesund, the traffic hub Moa and to the speed boat terminal at Valderøy.
From the airport, it is 18 kilometres to the centre of the Art Nouveau town Ålesund.
How to get to Weymouth
By Train and Bus
Weymouth is in Dorset and is served by good rail and bus links. If you want to travel east of Weymouth, in the direction of London, you will need to get the South West Train Service. For any route heading West (e.g. Devon, Bristol, Yeovil) you will need to catch the First Great Western Service.
By Air
If you are flying into or home from Weymouth, the nearest Airport is Bournemouth Airport which is approximately 1hour away. You can take a train to Bournemouth and then a bus to the airport. Alternatively Southampton airport is a 2 hour train journey away.
