AN ADVENTURE TO REMEMBER THIS SUMMER
This is an opportunity to sail on not just one vessel but two vessels! We are running a special summer programme in partnership with Atyla Foundation. With 24 young people sailing on two beautiful class B tall ships, you will have a tall ship adventure you will remember forever.
Become a trainee crew member on board Tall Ship Maybe and TS Atyla, sailing with young people from across the UK, Ireland and the rest of Europe. Learn about teamwork, leadership whilst learning skills in sailing a traditional tall ship. There will plenty of opportunities to visit some secluded and isolated towns and bays, maybe have a bonfire on the beach or cool off in the fresh ocean water. Whatever happens on this trip, you will make new friends, learn new skills and make memories that will last forever.
This voyage qualifies for Duke of Edinburgh Gold Residential and Gaisce President’s Award Ireland.

Join Maybe Sailing on board Tall Ship Maybe for an amazing nautical adventure. You will become the crew of Tall Ship Maybe, involved in every aspect of sailing a classic Tall Ship; without you the sails won’t go up and the boat won’t move! You will be involved in hoisting sails, ropework, steering, keeping watch, cooking in the galley and general duties on board.
You will be sharing this voyage with 12 other young people from across the UK. You will learn skills in team work, communication and leadership and make new friends, building confidence and having fun.
Setting off from Harlingen, where there will be a fabulous fireworks and farewell celebration, we head out through the Frisian Islands and down the Coast of the Netherlands before crossing the North Sea and making for the coast of England. Depending on the weather conditions we will head inside the Isle of Wight through the Solent or outside the Isle of Wight, staying in the English Channel. See amazing scenery. Spot amazing wildlife, maybe even a Whale or two! But, most importantly, have a fantastic adventure which you will share with new friends and will be etched in your memory forever.

How to get to Harlingen, The Netherlands
The best option to get to Harlingen would be to fly to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport and then take a train from the airport to Harlingen. You can find train times and booking online here.
The town is served by a good network of roads. The A31 is the main road towards Franeker and Leeuwarden. A quick connection via the N31 coastal road, leads to the major A7 highway over the Afsluitdijk. It’s only about 8km to this major causeway that links Friesland to Noord-Holland, making Harlingen also well-reachable from the Western Netherlands.
Bus and train services are operated by Arriva, and are a good alternative to the road. There are two train stations, Harlingen Haven (for the harbour) and Harlingen Station. The train runs from here to Franeker, Dronrijp, Deinum and Leeuwarden, typically twice per hour but less on evenings or weekends.
Bus Lines include lines 71 and 97 to Leeuwarden, line 75 to Franeker and 99 to Bolsward, Sneek and Heerenveen. Bus line 132 will get you to the start of the Afsluitdijk. In summer, there’s a connection to Alkmaar in the Western Netherlands (Qliner 351).
How to get to Weymouth
By Train and Bus
Weymouth is in Dorset and is served by good rail and bus links. If you want to travel east of Weymouth, in the direction of London, you will need to get the South West Train Service. For any route heading West (e.g. Devon, Bristol, Yeovil) you will need to catch the First Great Western Service.
By Air
If you are flying into or home from Weymouth, the nearest Airport is Bournemouth Airport which is approximately 1hour away. You can take a train to Bournemouth and then a bus to the airport. Alternatively Southampton airport is a 2 hour train journey away.
